Absolutely. Your vehicle will be transported fully insured for the duration of your transport.
You will be permitted to transport a specified amount of personal belongings, 200lb maximum ONLY in the trunk. If you have an SUV you must leave the backseats up and load it behind the backseats and below the windows. If you overload your car, you may have to pay an additional fee. Also, the personal belongings in the vehicle will not be insured during transport. Please check your homeowner’s insurance for items covered under your policy.
The most important issue for clients to understand the process of car shipping is that this industry is not like FedEx or the postal service. Pick-up and delivery dates are estimated; they are not guarantees. Unforeseen problems from mechanical breakdown, traffic, and weather all contribute to delays. Make sure you have realistic expectations; normally it takes under seven days to ship your car from NY to FL. With that being said, we have an excellent reputation with the Better Business Bureau, and we pride ourselves on being one of the best in our industry. We don’t like delays as much as you and do our best to ensure your automobile arrives on time.
Door-to-Door does not always mean a truck will be able to pull up to your front door. Door-to-Door means that the truck driver will always get as close to your specified pick-up or delivery spot as he can legally and safely get. Large towns and cities often restrict large trucks and prohibit them from entering into some residential areas. Auto shipping trucks can be up to 80 feet long, and drivers will need lots of room to maneuver and turn around. When access to your residence is restricted by narrow streets, low-hanging trees, speed bumps or tight turns, the driver may ask that you meet the truck at a large parking lot nearby, such as a grocery store, school, or shopping mall. We recommend that you schedule your move as soon as possible to ensure that your car is moved within the time frame which best meets your schedule. Traditionally, we can have a truck assigned and on its way to pick up your vehicle 1 to 7 days from the date the vehicle is ready to be shipped. If your vehicle is available for pick-up immediately, we will work with you on getting your vehicle scheduled as close to the preferred date as possible. It is helpful when orders are submitted 2 to 4 weeks in advance of the available date. Scheduling your order in advance is helpful (however not necessary) for a successful relocation.
This is the million dollar question. If you have shipped your car before, I’m sure you have heard a wide range of prices. During the high demand times of the year such as late spring and early fall, you can expect to pay a premium but there will STILL be quite a large range, and that is because well…you get what you pay for. We own our trucks, and when a customer pays a premium to get their car moved on a certain date, they will be a priority. If you are not in a rush, then you can pay on the lower end of the range but expect to wait a few weeks. If you decide to go with the CHEAPEST quote, we encourage you to do your research. We only need a deposit to start your shipment. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. The balance should be paid the week of shipment. You may make payment in full, with a credit card, at the time the order is placed if it is more convenient for you.
We keep each customer well-informed during the entire shipping process. We instruct the drivers to call the customer 12 to 24 hours in advance of pick-up or delivery to establish a more accurate estimated time of arrival and to work out specific directions. We ask that you make yourself as available as possible. Please do not take off work or hang around your home until you speak with the driver. In the event you are not able to release or take possession of your vehicle, you may appoint anyone to do this task. We ask that you supply us with the proper information for a contact in this situation.
Although this is extremely rare, in the instance of your vehicle arriving with damage, there are a few steps that you must follow in order to file your claim. You have to make sure that the carrier understands that there is damage done to the vehicle and all damage must be noted on the inspection report. If the damage is not noted on the final inspection report, there will be no claim. You will then be required to receive two estimates and digital pictures on the damages and e-mail them to us. We will be responsible for the claim and will take the next step to get your vehicle fixed right away.
